On Neutrino Masses and a Low Breaking Scale of Left-Right Symmetry

چکیده
In left-right symmetric models (LRSM) the light neutrino masses arise from two sources: the seesaw mechanism and a VEV of an SU(2)L triplet. If the left-right symmetry breaking, vR, is low, vR ∼ 15 TeV, the contributions to the light neutrino masses from both the seesaw mechanism and the triplet Yukawa couplings are expected to be well above the experimental bounds. We present a minimal LRSM with an additional U(1) symmetry in which the masses induced by the two sources are below the eV scale and the twofold problem is solved. We further show that, if the U(1) symmetry is also responsible for the lepton flavor structure, the model yields a small mixing angle within the first two lepton generations.

Leptogenesis bound on neutrino masses in left-right symmetric models with spontaneous D-parity violation
We study the baryogenesis via leptogenesis in a class of left-right symmetric models, in which D-parity is broken spontaneously. We first discuss the consequence of the spontaneous breaking of D-parity on the neutrino masses. Than we study the lepton asymmetry in various cases, from the decay of right handed neutrino as well as the triplet Higgs, depending on their relative masses they acquire ...
متن کاملCP Violation in a SUSY SO ( 10 ) × U ( 2 ) F Model ∗
We construct a model based on SUSY SO(10) combined with U(2) family symmetry including complex phases leading to CP violation. In contrast with the commonly used effective operator approach, 126-dimensional Higgs fields are utilized to construct the Yukawa sector. R-parity symmetry is thus preserved at low energies. The symmetric mass textures arising from the left-right symmetry breaking chain...
متن کاملNeutrinos and Lepton Flavour Violation in the Left-Right Twin Higgs Model
We analyse the lepton sector of the Left-Right Twin Higgs Model. This model offers an alternative way to solve the “little hierarchy” problem of the Standard Model. We show that one can achieve an effective see-saw to explain the origin of neutrino masses and that this model can accommodate the observed neutrino masses and mixings. We have also studied the lepton flavour violation process l1 → ...
متن کاملConformal Neutrinos: an Alternative to the See-saw Mechanism
We analyze a scenario where the right-handed neutrinos make part of a strongly coupled conformal field theory and acquire an anomalous dimension γ < 1 at a large scale Λ. Their Yukawa couplings to the Higgs become irrelevant at the fixed point and they are suppressed at low scales giving rise naturally to a small (sub-meV) Dirac neutrino mass which breaks the conformal invariance. We derive an ...
متن کاملNeutrino Masses in Supersymmetric SU ( 3 ) C × SU ( 2 ) L × U ( 1 ) Y × U ( 1 ) ′ Models
We consider various possibilities for generating neutrino masses in supersymmetric models with an additional U(1)′ gauge symmetry. One class of models involves two extra U(1)′ ×U(1)′′ gauge symmetries, with U(1)′′ breaking at an intermediate scale and yielding small Dirac masses through high-dimensional operators. The right-handed neutrinos N c i can naturally decouple from the low energy U(1)′...
